YouTube has removed president Donald Trump’s most recent video baselessly challenging the 2020 presidential election results.
“We removed a video posted this afternoon to Donald Trump’s channel that violated our policies regarding content that alleges widespread fraud or errors changed the outcome of the 2020 U.S.,” Farshad Shadloo, YouTube spokesperson, said in an email to Insider. “We do allow copies of this video if uploaded with additional context and sufficient educational, documentary, scientific, or artistic (EDSA) value.”
The president posted the minute-long video to social media amid an insurrection at the US Capitol building. Pro-Trump rioters broke into the House and Senate chambers to stop the counting of electoral votes in the 2020 general election.
Lawmakers and Vice President Mike Pence evacuated the building, and videos showed rioters breaking windows and stealing items.

Facebook removed the video as well, according to New York Times reporter Mike Isaac. The video remains on Twitter, but users cannot like, comment, or retweet the post.
CNBC anchor Shep Smith told his producers to cut the tape during the network's live airing of Trump's video.
Trump praised his supporters who committed the violence, calling them "very special," but told them to "go home."
"This was a fraudulent election, but we can't play into the hands of these people," Trump said. "We have to have peace. So go home, we love you, you're very special." There was no evidence of election fraud that support the president's claim.
President-elect Joe Biden called the violence an "insurrection" that "borders on sedition," and demanded Trump tell his supporters to back down.
"I call on President Trump to go on national television now to fulfill his oath and defend the Constitution and demand an end to this siege," Biden said.
