- A viral TikTok video appears to show a customer chastising a Walmart cashier for not bagging her groceries.
- "You don't want to be here today?," the customer asks. "'Cause that is not customer service, the way you acting."
- Viewers largely sided with the cashier, saying the customer was "ridiculous" and should have bagged her own items.
TikTok users are divided after a video of a customer telling off a Walmart cashier for not bagging her items went viral.
In the video, uploaded last week, the customer can be heard chastising the cashier for not putting her items into bags after scanning them and for placing a box of cereal in a bag with force.
"You don't want to be here today?," the customer asks the cashier at one point. "'Cause that is not customer service, the way you acting."
The cashier is noticeably frustrated by the customer in the video, filmed at an unnamed Walmart store that the uploader says is in Mississippi.
The video, which has the caption "Walmart has the worst customer service," consists of the customer recording the cashier as she scans items. It's unclear who the customer is.
"You gonna put the rest of this stuff in bags? ... This stuff over here too," the customer says to the cashier at the start of the video. "This stuff that you put down here, it needs to be in bags."
Partway through the video, the cashier places a box of cereal in a plastic bag, seemingly with some force.
"Okay, you just damaged my cereal," the customer says to the cashier.
"Girl it's the box, it's the box," the cashier responds, before taking it off the transaction.
The customer asks the cashier to place every item in bags. "Please put my eggs in the bag ... and don't break them," she says.
In the comments on the video, which has 1.5 million viewers, TikTok users are split on whether the customer was right to ask the cashier to pack her items in that manner, though most commenters sided with the cashier.
"That customer was ridiculous," one viewer commented.
"As a cashier, customers like this like to find every little thing to complain about," another said. "It's almost like they try to make your day worse than it has been."
Some commenters said the customer should have been more patient. Many said that the customer should have packed her own bags and some said she should have gone to the self-checkout.
Other commenters, however, said that it was the cashier's job to bag the groceries. "The cashier should be fired with her bad attitude," one wrote.
"The cashier did have an attitude but the customer kinda didn't help the situation," another commenter said.
