The NFL has seen a boom in popularity over the years, and now investors want a piece of it.

Owners of the 32 NFL teams recently voted to allow private equity investors to buy limited stakes in franchises, which could open the floodgates for soaring sports team valuations.

According to a new analysis from CNBC, the top 10 most highly valued NFL teams are worth a combined $78 billion. The analysis assessed a team's franchise value based on revenues, profitability, and overall debt levels.

The average NFL football team is worth $6.49 billion, according to the analysis, with the most valuable team hitting an $11 billion valuation, while the lowest valued team, the Cincinnati Bengals, is worth $5.25 billion.
