1. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson started a multi-country tour of the Middle East. Tillerson notably left out visiting Israel from his itinerary, which the State Department said shouldn’t be “read too much into.”
2. The Irish government believes Brexit talks “could collapse at any moment.” A senior Irish minister said they feared negotiations could break down over the issue of a hard Irish border post-Brexit.
3. South Korea will try to arrange more reunions for families divided by the Korean War. South Korea’s statement came after a high-level North Korean delegation finished a three-day visit to South Korea in which Kim Jong Un’s sister invited South Korea’s President to travel to Pyongyang for talks.
4. At least 71 people died when a plane crashed near Moscow. The plane reportedly belonged to Saratov Airlines, a Russian commercial carrier, and disappeared from radar screens a few minutes after departing from Domodedovo Airport.
5. China is preparing to test drone ships in the South China Sea. Recent satellite photos showed the extent of China's infrastructure building on disputed islands in the South China Sea during 2017.
6. Uber and Waymo reached a $245 million settlement in their legal fight over self-driving-car technology. Waymo, the self-driving-car unit owned by Google's parent company, will receive $245 million of equity in Uber.
7. The African National Congress will decide whether to unseat South Africa's president on Monday. President Jacob Zuma is currently fighting corruption charges.
8. Fifty luxury apartments in Dubai were sold for bitcoin. The sales highlight a growing trend of real estate being offered in exchange for bitcoin.
9. Cryptocurrency company Ripple signed a deal with foreign exchange giant UAE Exchange. UAE Exchange is joining the startup's RippleNet network, which uses blockchain technology to power real-time international payments.
10. The New York Attorney General is suing disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein. The suit targets Harvey Weinstein for allegations of sexual misconduct and also alleges there was "routine misuse of corporate resources for unlawful ends" by The Weinstein Company.
