• Abramovich's superyacht has been spotted anchored off the coast of Tivat, Montenegro.
  •  It arrived in the port just before 8 a.m. UK time, according to The Daily Mail.
  • The 460-foot vessel that left Spain two days before UK sanctions hit, is worth $600 million.

Solaris, a superyacht belonging to Roman Abramovich, was spotted anchored in Montenegro on Saturday morning.

The Daily Mail first reported the news

Abramovich, an oligarch who owns Chelsea FC, has joined other Russian billionaires in moving his assets around the world in an attempt to prevent them from being seized.

His 460-foot vessel left a Spanish shipyard on Tuesday, where it had been docked since late 2021 for repairs, Insider's Kate Duffy reported

The yacht, which is worth $600 million, according to SuperYacht Fan, was spotted off the coast of Tivat in Montenegro on Saturday just before 8 a.m. local time.

In the early hours of Saturday, the ship-tracking site MarineTraffic showed that Solaris was heading around Sicily and into the Ionian Sea.

BCM Group, the port agents in Tivat, did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment made outside of normal working hours.

Montenegro is not an EU member yet. However, the Turkish news agency Anadolu Agency reported earlier this month that Montenegro had joined the EU's sanctions on Russia.

The US and EU continue to take further steps to isolate Russia from the rest of the world. This includes banning exports of luxury goods to Russia.

Abramovich, ranked as the eighth richest man in Russia, is worth more than $11 billion. He holds stakes in the Russian steel company Evraz – 28.64% per SkyNews – and Norilsk Nickel.
