• Black leather jackets are a well-known staple in Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's wardrobe.
  • Online sellers are using his name and image in listings for lookalike leather jackets.
  • Like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg, Huang is a tech CEO who prefers a consistent uniform.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is known for his signature black leather jackets — he's rarely seen in public without one.

Huang, who cofounded the chip-maker Nvidia, immigrated to the US from Taiwan and had a nearly $38 billion net worth as of Thursday — thanks in part to the company's soaring revenues from selling its AI chips to tech companies.

The CEO typically dons a leather jacket with a matching black shirt underneath, a more elevated look than some of the simpler outfits worn by other tech CEOs, and people have taken note ("Jensen Huang leather jacket" is a break-out search on Google Trends).

Now, some online sellers are trying to capitalize off the interest in his look, with some going as far as including Huang's name or image in their marketing, Bloomberg reports.

One Amazon listing for a men's leather jacket uses Huang's name and image to hoover up searches with the CEO in mind. That particular jacket isn't currently available, but you don't have to look far to find similar listings. A Wilson Jackets product page titled "Jensen Huang Nvidia CEO Leather Jacket" offers faux and real leather lookalikes. Another listing for a Jensen Huang jacket is on Jacketpop for $105.

The latest CEO uniform to capture people's attention

Huang isn't the only big-name tech CEO who likes to wear the same thing over and over again.

Steve Jobs was basically never seen without blue jeans and a black turtleneck made by Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake. According to Walter Isaacson's biography about Jobs, the late Apple CEO had "hundreds" of black turtlenecks made — "enough to last me the rest of my life," as he put it.

And of course, we can't forget about Mark Zuckerberg, who is often seen wearing a plain gray t-shirt. In a 2014 Q&A, Zuckerberg said he wears the same thing every day so he can focus on making decisions that serve the community, rather than focusing on what he's going to wear.

Of course, since Zuckerberg is one of the richest people in the world, he isn't just going to get his shirts from a five-pack at Walmart. His gray shirts are from Brunello Cucinelli and can cost between $300-$400 — a prime example of "quiet luxury" or "stealth wealth." However, as Zuckerberg continues his martial arts training and transforms his body, his wardrobe appears to be following suit — he was seen rocking a henley during Meta's Connect conference.

Huang's wardrobe seems to vary slightly. His leather jackets all seem to be black, but their fit and detail differs.

We don't have official confirmation on the various jackets he's worn — Nvidia did not respond to Insider's request for comment ahead of publication. But some keen-eyed fashion lovers do have some educated guesses as to where his jackets are from.

One Redditor posted that they believe he may own an $11,300 jacket from Hermès.

However, stylist Joseph Rosenfeld told The New York Times that he suspects some of Huang's jackets are a bit more affordable than ultra-high-end jackets from designers like Tom Ford. Some appear to be from the brand Theory — for example, the "Morvek Zip Jacket in Leather," which was listed at $716.25 at the time of writing.

Rosenfeld theorized to the Times that if Huang wore suits or polos and khakis, he might risk looking too generic.

But with online sellers marketing their jackets with Huang's name and photo, one thing is for certain: His biker-esque style is definitely helping him stand out.
