Miss Thailand Anntonia Porsild revealed that she feels happier when she gets to be a normal person — sans makeup — at home.

The 27-year-old shared her preference in an interview with pageant content creator Luis Portelles that was uploaded onto his YouTube channel last Monday.

"When everything comes off, I am much more happy," Porslid said, referring to the makeup and the glamourous outfits that she, as a beauty queen, is typically associated with.

"I don't care what people say, I don't care what people think. I feel more comfortable in my skin, and I feel like I can do anything," Porslid continued.

Porslid then explained that while "the makeup, hair, and the clothes" of a beauty queen can build confidence, she doesn't want her confidence to be tied to aspects that can be easily stripped away.

She added that she tries to wear as little makeup as possible whenever she can because she wants people to see that "beauty queens are humans as well."

"We lay in bed and we're lazy as well. Some days we also go grocery shopping, some days we're also doing normal people things," she said.

"All of the beauty queens that you support are all human, and I feel like sometimes people forget that," Porslid added.

The Miss Universe 2023 pageant took place on Saturday in El Salvador.

Miss Nicaragua Sheynnis Palacios was crowned the winner of Miss Universe 2023, while Porslid was named the first runner-up in the pageant.

This is Thailand's highest placement in the Miss Universe pageant since 1988, per Bangkok Post.

If Palacios is unable to fulfill her duties as the winner, which includes representing the organization at social events and championing humanitarian causes, Porslid —as first-runner up — will take her place, per the rules of the pageant.
