The races and the stakes
On the Senate side, Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto is up for reelection this year and is running against a field of three in the Democratic primary race: bartender Corey Reid, Democratic-Socialist Allen Rheinhart, and educator and activist Stephanie Kasheta.
The Republican primary field is even more stacked: Eight Republicans are running for the opportunity to unseat Cortez Masto, including several military veterans, including Army veteran Sam Brown, retired Green Beret Bill Conrad, and Navy veteran Adam Laxalt.
Come November, the Senate race is expected to be close. According to Sabato's Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia Center for Politics, the race is rated as a "toss-up."
As for the US House of Representatives, Nevada has four congressional districts: Three of the districts are currently represented by a Democrat, and one is represented by a Republican. Each of the seats are up for election this November.
In the state's 1st Congressional District, Rep. Dina Titus is running for reelection in the Democratic primary against Medicare advocate Amy Vilela. There are eight Republicans running in the 1st District's Republican primary, including activist Jane Adams, educator and business owner Mark Robertson, and retired Supreme Court of Nevada Judge Cynthia Dianne Steel. According to the experts, the race is rated as "leans Democratic."

On the Democratic side, there are seven candidates running in the primary, including Army veteran Michael Doucette and educator and union activist Mercedes Krause.
