The white gown featured layers of ruffles throughout and a sweetheart neckline. She paired the dress with the Queen Mary's Lover's Knot tiara for an extra elegant touch. This was also the first time the duchess has worn her sash of the Royal Victorian Order, which Vanity Fair reports was given to her on her eight-year wedding anniversary in April.

Middleton recycled the floral Alexander Mcqueen gown for the 2019 Portrait Gala. When she first wore it in 2017, it was off-the-shoulder, but this time around she upgraded it with cap sleeves.
