The Business Insider Global Trends Report is a comprehensive review of important global business trends for corporate leaders and entrepreneurs over the next 2-3 years. The report has been developed with Business Insider newsrooms all over the world, market analysts, and the CEOs of leading international companies.
Business Insider's newsrooms on five continents identified the most important business changes in the world in the mid-term perspective, then validated them against real-world market data to make a list of 17 global trends for 2021-23.
"Our newsrooms joined our research arm, Insider Intelligence, to select and analyze the most significant business trends for the years ahead," Henry Blodget, CEO and cofounder of Insider Inc., said. "Alongside these insights, leaders of global companies explain how the trends are shaping their industries, and special sections explore local market nuances in countries around the world."

Business leaders from major brands, some of whom participated in the Business Insider Global Trends Festival virtual event in October 2020, provided their observations, comments and experiences, to supplement the list.
The 17 trends presented in the Business Insider Global Trends Report are grouped into four topic areas: Shifting Societies, Sustainability, Technology, and Organizations.
The trends include the topics and areas that underwent fundamental changes and accelerated due to the coronavirus pandemic, such as online shopping, paid service subscriptions, plant-based diets, and resale of secondhand clothes. Trends like telemedicine and artificial intelligence got significant attention.
The Business Insider Global Trends Report also discusses how companies function, including hybrid working models, the new role of offices, employee wellbeing as a new obligation for companies, and the increasing importance of diversity and inclusion.
