• Home Depot's 12-foot skeleton has sold out online after its third and final restock of 2023.
  • The $300 skeleton will now only be available at local stores.
  • The giant skeleton has been a fan favorite for the past few years, consistently selling out.

Halloween might be your favorite holiday, but would you be willing to shell out $300 for one of the most sought-out skeletons of the 2020s?

As it turns out — many people would. Summer is not officially over yet, but Home Depot's famous 12-foot skeleton has once again, sold out, according to its online listing.

The skeleton sold out online in April and July, according to Mashable. During Home Depot's July restock, 4,2o0 skeletons were sold.

The final online restock took place on August 17, which also promptly sold out. This is despite orders being limited to one skeleton per person. Now those seeking out the gigantic lawn ornaments may have to venture out to a local Home Depot, as the skeletons will still be in stores.

Perhaps you are willing to compromise with a smaller skeleton. If that's the case, you are also out of luck. Home Depot's $40, 3-foot skeleton is also sold out, according to Home Depot's website.

This year is not the first time the giant skeleton frenzy caused the item to sell out way before Halloween. The skeletons also sold out in 2020 and 2021

Since the ghoulish giants are such an investment, many people try to make them stretch as long as possible. Because the skeletons are so large, consumers may have bought them without considering storage.

So, some people integrated the skeletons into their Christmas displays. Pictures of comically large skeletons wearing Christmas hats and decorating trees began to go viral.

Lance Allen, the creator of the giant skeletons, works as Home Depot's decorative holiday merchant. He previously told Insider that he loves seeing how people integrate the skeletons into their festive displays.
