At least 15 people were killed and scores left wounded on Tuesday after a Kabul hospital was rocked with explosions and gunfire, according to multiple reports.

A Taliban security official said 34 people were injured after a hospital in Afghanistan's capital city was hit by two explosions and gunfire, Reuters reported.

One blast went off at the entrance of the Sardar Mohammad Dawood Khan military hospital, the Associated Press reported.

The hospital is a haven for injured Taliban fighters and former Afghan military veterans, according to the Wall Street Journal.

No group has claimed responsibility yet, according to reports. But Afghanistan's Bakhtar News Agency reported that witnesses described seeing Islamic State fighters clash with security forces in the hospital.

The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for a string of deadly attacks on Afghanistan in recent weeks, and targeted the same hospital in 2017, the Journal said.
