Eric Trump on Friday bashed The Washington Post on Twitter after it reported the Trump International Hotel in New York City had profited from “a last-minute visit” to the city by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.

Eric, who runs the Trump Organization alongside his older brother, Donald Trump Jr., seemed to claim the newspaper’s coverage was tainted by anti-Trump bias inspired by its owner, Jeff Bezos, who also owns Amazon.

The Washington Post’s story focused on the ongoing concerns President Donald Trump is earning money from foreign governments via his business empire. This story was not directly referenced in Eric’s tweet, but was published roughly two hours before his outburst on social media.

“The level of hatred and the willingness to disparage my family and our great company has never been so ugly and unrelenting as I have seen recently by the [Washington Post]. It is clearly coming from the top with one motivation in mind. [Jeff Bezos],” Eric tweeted.

President Donald Trump has made similar accusations toward the historic newspaper in the past.

In late July, the president tweeted, "In my opinion the Washington Post is nothing more than an expensive (the paper loses a fortune) lobbyist for Amazon."

Eric on Friday also attacked The New York Times on Twitter, another favorite target of the president's, for hiring a tech journalist for its editorial board whose past tweets have come under fire in recent days.

This all comes after a week in which the Trump administration's contentious relationship with the media dominated headlines as the White House continued to clash with reporters and Ivanka, the president's eldest daughter, weighed in on the subject.

Ivanka on Thursday said she didn't believe the press was the "enemy of the people," as her father has stated.

Subsequently, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders during Thursday's briefing had a heated exchange with CNN's Jim Acosta and refused to say the media isn't the "enemy."

Later the same day, the president tweeted that only "Fake News" is the enemy of the people, adding that a "large percentage" of the media falls under that characterization.
