Firstly, it's an incredible price for what is ultimately a surprisingly premium-looking- and-feeling product. Just under $10 for a pad made from tightly-woven fabric and featuring a gel wrist rest is an excellent deal.

We've personally used both of the AmazonBasics brand mouse and mouse pad products, and find both to be just fine for general use. Plus, they can last for months of gentle use, if not longer, which is tough to beat for less than a lunch in most places these days.
