Ben & Jerry’s has two new flavors, but this time, they’re for dogs.
The new ice cream treats, branded as “Doggie Desserts,” have a sunflower butter base and are available in either single servings or four-count packs.
“We know our fans love their dogs and treat them like family,” said Lindsay Bumps, a Ben & Jerry’s global marketing specialist and a certified veterinary technician, said in a statement. “We created this product line so pups can enjoy something even better than belly rubs. Doggie Desserts are the sweetest treat they’ll ever put their paws on.”
The Pontch’s Mix flavor is a peanut butter and pretzel swirl, while Rosie’s Batch offers a pumpkin and mini cookies flavoring. The inspiration for the new product came from two dogs that worked in the Ben & Jerry’s headquarters.
The release of these flavors also comes with new merchandise, including a tie-dye leash and plush cone. Both are made with eco-friendly materials.

Ben & Jerry's
While this is the first time the ice cream giant has made something for dogs, the brand has been branching out more in recent years, especially in calls for diversity and inclusion. Last year, the company released a podcast series detailing white supremacy in America, and also joined in the calls for defunding the police.
Doggie Desserts will be available at both supermarkets and pet supply stores.
