At least three people are reportedly dead after a massive fire broke out at the CentralWorld shopping and hotel complex in Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday evening local time, local media reported.
The fire broke out in the Thai capital just before 6 p.m. local time, Channel News Asia (CNA) reported.
As of 7:16 p.m., three people had died and seven were injured, the Spring News TV network reported, citing Bangkok’s governor Aswin Kwanmuang.
The fire originated at a document storage room on the eighth floor of the hotel, CNA reported, citing Khaosod news site.
Footage posted to social media showed a plume of black smoke coming out of the high-rise building, and dozens of evacuted shoppers and workers watching below.
