Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Monday issued a scathing response to a violent tweet posted by one of her Republican colleagues.
On Sunday, Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar posted an edited anime scene depicting him killing the lawmaker from New York with the caption "Any anime fans out there?"
The post, which has surpassed three million views as of Monday night, showed an anime character with Gosar's face edited on it killing a large superimposed character featuring Ocasio-Cortez's face.
"A creepy member I work with who fundraises for Neo-Nazi groups shared a fantasy video of him killing me," Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. "And he'll face no consequences bc @GOPLeader cheers him on with excuses."

Gosar quote-tweeted the edit of a scene from the anime "Attack on Titan," which was entitled "Attack of Immigrants," on his official Congressional Twitter account. The minute-and-a-half clip remained on Gosar's Twitter account as of Monday night.
The website did not respond to Insider's previous request for comment regarding the site's rules and policies which prohibit users from threatening "violence against an individual or group of people," as well as the "glorification of violence."
In a Twitter thread responding to Gosar's post, Ocasio-Cortez reflected on times she previously felt threatened while performing her duties as a US Representative, including when former Republican Rep. Ted Yoho reportedly accosted her on the steps of the Capitol and called her a "fucking bitch."
"Remember when Greene ran after me a few months ago screaming and reaching," Ocasio-Cortez wrote. "Remember when she stalked my office the 1st time w/ insurrectionists & ppl locked inside."
"All at my job & nothing ever happens," she added.
Gosar has been a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump and previously described the January 6 Capitol rioters as "peaceful patriots."
Ocasio-Cortez referenced the Arizona lawmaker's past flirtation with white nationalists and far-right extremists, as well.
"White supremacy is for extremely fragile people & sad men like him, whose self-concept relies on the myth that he was born superior because deep down he knows he couldn't open a pickle jar or read a whole book by himself," she tweeted.
The congresswoman also called Gosar "just a collection of wet toothpicks."
A representative for Gosar did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
