A passenger plane has disappeared from flight radars in the Tomsk region of Siberia, Russian state media reported Friday, citing aviation sources.

There were at least 13 people on board the Antonov An-28 aircraft, Tass and Interfax reported. Tass reported that four children were on board.

The aircraft "stopped communicating," and an emergency beacon was later recorded in the Bakcharsky district in Tomsk, Interfax's source said.

The plane belonged to the Siberian Light Aviation airline, Tass reported. Insider has contacted the airline for comment.

Authorities have set up a search for the missing plane, Interfax reported.

Earlier this month an Antonov An-26 passenger plane carrying 22 people also disappeared from flight radars in Russia's far east, with the wreckage found hours later. There were no survivors.
