A helicopter and a plane have crashed into each other over Buckinghamshire, England, killing four people.
The mid-air collision took place around midday on Friday near the village of Waddesdon, multiple emergency services confirmed to Business Insider.
In an evening press conference at the scene of the crash, a senior police officer said four people had died.
Superintendent Rebecca Mears of Thames Valley Police informed the media of the deaths. She said there had been two victims in the aircraft, a Cessna 152, and two in the helicopter.
Sky News broadcast pictures from the crash site, which showed a clearing in a wooded area filled with bent fragments of metal. Emergency workers could be seen walking nearby.
The plane and helicopter both originated from Wycombe Air Park, staff at the airfield confirmed to Business Insider. It is around 20 miles south of the crash site.
It appears to mostly host light aircraft. Its Facebook page includes this video of an aircraft coming in to land:
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) confirmed in a press release that they are investigating. It said: "The AAIB is sending a team to investigate a mid-air collision involving an aircraft and a helicopter near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire."
